All Kinds of Hot

Sometimes it's all right to cry "Fire!" in a crowded theater
– especially when the show in question is "All Kinds of Hot.
This original, one-act play opened March 21. The show is written by San Antonio
fireman Scott McDowell, whose previous play, "A Fireman's Tale,"
premiered at the Overtime Theater in October 2007 and was
praised for "deftly weaving funny lines and situations into …
real-life facts" (San Antonio Express-News).
Like "A Fireman's Tale," the new play explores the myths and
realities of firefighting, with an unexpected and hilarious take
on "The Hero Bizness." This production is appropriate for anyone
age 12 and up. Directed by John Poole, the cast of "All Kinds of
Hot" includes Sophie Bolles, Stephen Brogdon, Christopher L.
Dean, John Poole, and Lucia Villanueva.
The Overtime Theater will present a special benefit
performance of "All Kinds of Hot" on March 27 at 8:00 pm.
Proceeds from the show will go to THE BURNED OUT SURVIVORS'
FUND (http://www.bosfund.org),
a charity that provides cash assistance to local fire victims
and their families.
The show runs
Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 pm, through April 26. There will be one
Sunday matinee on March 30 at 2:30 pm.
Ticket prices
are $9 for general admission, and $5 for teachers. Thursdays are
dice nights – roll the dice and pay the amount shown! (Or pay $9
if your score is over 9.)
Please call for reservations at 210-380-0326.
