Improv 101 with Amanda Pyle

Improv 101 is the perfect introduction to the world of improv comedy. Whether you are an actor who would like to give improv a try or someone who has never set a foot on stage, this class is for you. Improv 101 will help you to learn to think on you feet, develop characters and give you the confidence to take risks. Through warm-ups and improv games the instructor will show you how to perform as a team, helping you to grow as an actor and individual. Also this class is great way to improve your audition and interview skills! And when we are all done there will be a performance to show to the world all you have learned.

Classes run for six weeks with one class a week meeting every Saturday from 2-5. When class is finished you will perform a showcase on a Friday before the NCT show, giving you a chance to go up before the big guys!

ABOUT AMANDA PYLE

Amanda has performed in over 300 improv shows in Los Angeles and San Antonio. Her extensive study of improv began at the University of Southern California where she received a BA in Theatre Arts and studied improv under Mark Trules. Living in Los Angeles she pursued a career as an actress and performed with Ultimate Improv and Monkey Butler Comedy for five years. During her time there she was privileged to study under JD Walsh, Sam Christiansen, Bill Chott, David Magidoff, and Jason Alexander. As an improviser she has performed with many great improvisers from great companies such as Improv Olympic, Upright Citizens Brigade and The Groundlings. Taking her to San Antonio where she can share her experience with others how to use improv in auditions, performances and in your daily life. You can currently see her on a weekly basis with National Comedy Theater and Next Stage Improv at the Overtime Theater.
